Outstanding Stay at Villa Delphinus
We stayed at Villa Delphinus from September 14–18, 2025, and had a fantastic experience with Dauphin Island Beach Rentals. The property management team was outstanding. Our main contact Cat was responsive and kind, and in person, Russell went above and beyond by helping with luggage (important to note that there is no driveway, so you’ll want to arrange help or plan for a few trips). Even the maintenance man came out first thing Monday morning after I reported a doorknob issue Sunday night—he was polite, professional, and fast. April and Doretha were great too, and my mom and friend met Cat in person, who gave us excellent local restaurant recommendations. Every interaction was prompt, professional, and genuinely friendly.
I’ve rented on Dauphin Island for over 20 years, and while all management companies have been nice, this was by far the best experience.
The property itself was as described. While it does need some TLC, management was transparent about ongoing updates and even told us what was already on order. Location was perfect—steps from the ocean yet quiet and private, not crowded by other houses. The vaulted ceilings, French doors, and many windows offered spectacular views. The mattresses (except for the bunks) were very comfortable.
One practical note: as DIBR makes clear in their listing, the starter supplies are very minimal. You’ll want to bring or plan to buy more than a small sample pack of dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, and basics like spices or hand soap. Fortunately, Ship and Shore on the main strip carries what you need.
Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with the staff, the service, and the setting. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely return.

Perfect location!!!
Laura F. says
The location was absolutely stunning. The house is directly on the water with beautiful views from every window. We saw dolphins every morning around 8:30 am. Totally magical. The beach was quiet and at times completely private. Lots of beautiful shells and sea life to enjoy. The house is older and in need of some repairs and a deep clean as well. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back to the island again.

Our family enjoyed our week here! The home is over the water so there is some movement felt, but we loved it. Feeling and hearing the waves against the house was great and relaxing in our opinion. We loved it and the beach definitely will be back!
Jaime C. says
The location of this house is amazing! The house itself is in need of some major repairs. Regular maintenance repairs, aside from the harsh effects of saltwater. We had a sizable list of issues with the home, one being the main entrance door and knob, both were about to fall off. We reported our issues, the property managers were quick to respond to the call, but did not come out to repair anything the week we were there. They did send someone to work on the WiFi, but still barely useable after the repair. I will say they provided a small (in comparison with the issues) refund. I would use the management company again, but would not rent this home again.
Chase Webster says
Thank you, Jaime, for the detailed review. We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at our property. Our team is working diligently to address the issues you raised, including the needed maintenance repairs and improving the WiFi connectivity. We are committed to providing a high-quality stay for all our guests, and your comments will help us enhance the property further. We would be honored to have you stay with us again in the future, and we will ensure your next visit meets the standards you expect. Thank you again for your review.

Me and 6 other girls stayed at this house and it was one of the most relaxing and fun trips I’ve had in my life! Other than a few cleaning issues, the house was beautiful and right on the water as described! We saw dolphins, jellyfish, and flying fish too! Such a perfect beach vacation! We will be back.

Our stay was great! Highly recommend!

It’s a great place to relax and unwind! Would highly recommend
Vytautas S. says
We stayed in the property for about a week all I can say is location, location, location. Right on the water, waking up to sounds of the Gulf. Private beach is just steps down from the house. Property is airy with two exits to the balcony overlooking the Gulf, where you can sunbathe. Sand is so white and clean, it’s still in my dreams.
Few things of note: if you will try to work from there, better brace yourself, WiFI is pretty much non-existent, goes in and out every 5 minutes (those minutes that it is on, it’s extremely slow), if I would live there definitely invest in Starlink. If you need to work there, go to Lighthouse Bakery, we found it’s only reliable internet on the island.
During the storms (or high wind) house does move a little, but that comes with house being on the poles.

It was an experience we’ve never had staying “ON” the water and it was fun! Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay. Parking and unloading was a task but was well worth the experience of being over the water. We will be back!
Courtland W. says
Had an awesome stay amazing view and location was probably the best on the island really don’t get any of the few complaints in other reviews all things I would expect from a house built literally over the ocean only tip is for the doors being hard to shut they shut fine you just have to turn the knob as you shut it id definitely stay again super relaxing secluded with just enough restaurants and rentals electric bikes golf carts and jet skis to satisfy but not feel like a tourist trap!

Simply a beautiful and peaceful stay. My husband and I will definitely stay there again. The view and sounds of the waves were priceless.
Cecil says
How far out is it from restaurants and shopping?
Adam says
The navigable part of the island is only 7 miles long, so you’re always close to everything. Villa is 3.5 miles away from gift shops and places to eat.
Shawn Brady says
How far is Vargas Ct and how close can you get to unload car?
Becky Griffon says
Vargas Ct is on the west end of the island. You can get up to the house to unload.
Rebecca Thompson says
Is the beach outside of the home good for swimming? Too deep? Rocks? Anything like that?
Becky Griffon says
You would want to watch to make sure you stay up to date with any warnings. It is a wonderful beach but with any other you need to watch small children and warning signs that are posted.
Jacqueline Oehlerking says
How many stairs are there to the entry?
Adam says
16
Dee Sexton Bryant says
Do they have a extra large pot for Boling shrip
Adam says
There should be a large pot at the property. If you stay and find there isn’t one, please let us know, but that is standard cookware. Thank you! DIBR
Dee Sexton Bryant says
Is there a leash law there?
Adam says
Yes, dogs are allowed on the beach but must be leashed.
GiGi Miller says
Where do renters park their vehicle(s)?
Adam says
Guests park on Vargas Ct, up to two vehicles. You will be asked to leave your rental agreement on your dash. If you have additional cars, there is overflow parking at Green Park. Thanks, DIBR

Great Place for a quiet getaway!
We stayed at the Villa during the last week of May! It was perfect. We loved hearing the waves all the time, got to fish off of the back deck. Everything we needed was there and the house was beautifully decorated. Lots of dolphins just off the very quiet beach. Will definitely be returning! Thanks!
