Description
The Boat House is a completely remodeled (2022) 4/2 beach house right on the beach. The views are gorgeous and you can walk right down your back stairs out to the waves. The house enjoys vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, vibrant beach decor, and comfortable furnishings throughout! The dining room has a walkout slider giving you a direct view of the Gulf of Mexico. The house has new flooring and countertops, and cabinets, so you can count on being happy and able to relax on a wonderful beach vacation!
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax applies.
10. Cargo lifts are not available to guests and can not be used. They are not permitted by Home Owner Insurance Policies.

So, we did end up staying here during Tropical Storm Bertha. I wish I knew her name, but I want to give a huge shout-out to the woman who works in the JS Vacations office and answered my phone call. I called her about 12 hours before the storm arrived just to check in and ask some questions. She lives on Dauphin Island, and the advice she gave me about how this storm would likely play out at this specific house, what would be smart precautions to take, and what we likely didn’t have to worry about ended up being 110% accurate. We moved one of our cars to a public lot in town and left the second on the raised parking pad at the house. The ocean did come up under the house, we were totally fine. What could have been a scary disaster ended up an adventure. The house itself is very nice and as advertised – we loved being able to walk the west end beach whenever we wanted (except during the storm, ha).

Beautiful property with easy beach access. The large open beach house was more than sufficient to hold our 8 guests, plus a baby and a dog, without feeling cramped. Would absolutely stay here again!

We had a perfect stay. We walked the west end beach every chance we got. The private beach access was fabulous. We spent every minute we could next to the water, which was only steps away. The house does have small imperfections but we chose to look at it as extra character. Everything was clean and in working order. There was an abundance of towels! I was so happy we had plenty and didn’t have to worry about washing non stop. They supplied everything we needed then some(trash bags, dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper). The checkout process was so nice and simple, we didn’t have to clean for hours like some places ask you to. We will be returning to this house in the future.

Amazing location and really clean, some lightbulbs missing and wall sockets not working, but overall great stay. no major complaints at all. the kitchen was fairly well stocked with dishes/utensils. we did run low on paper products, but only because we stayed for a whole week. we didn’t get the door code 2 hrs beforehand and had to call to get it, this wasn’t a big issue. Customer service was prompt, but definitely more corporate and short with us.
The wifi also wasn’t working, but they got it resolved really quickly.

It was wonderful to be right on the water! The kids could run down to the sand anytime they wanted and it made for a memorable trip. Easy walk to the public beach too. Views of the water from almost every room, and the property manager was super quick with maintenance needs.

This is a beautiful spacious home with great views of the ocean .We had our 4 grandchildren with us they enjoyed the beach area and our grandson caught enough fish for dinner.If you are a sunrise or sunset seeker this is the perfect place to come .one of our favorite things were the chairs on the deck and on the beach area .We also slept with the window open to hear the waves crashing it was so peaceful. This home had plenty of places to relax and enjoy every part of being at the beach .

The pictures on the website are deceiving from what the house really looks like. The sewer piping was broken under the house before we got there. It stayed broke till Thursday. The sewer was backed up and we had to park on the street. We should have been given another house to stay in till this one was fixed. The dishes were dirty. The propane bottle was empty. We got a new one that Wednesday. Outside lights and under the house didn’t work. I believe we should get some type of refund whether iota our deposit or a reduced price on another house when we come back in the future.

We love dauphin island. We had a pretty good stay overall. There were quite a few appliances that didn’t work or were broken but I notified the owner at the end of our stay and they said they’ll send someone out to fix/replace each thing. All communication was quick and respectful. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautifully decorated house. View of the Gulf is partially obstructed by the house in front. Sound views on the front. Expansive deck all the way around the house. Beach access right down the deck stairs. West End Public Beach is also a short walk away.

This rental was a great home to be on vacation. It was right along the beach, and the public beach was within a short walking distance. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. My car got stuck in sand within the first hour of arriving, and the neighbor helped pull it out. The main road has a bicycles lane so you can bike from one end of the island to the other. The home itself was well furnished and even had different beach themed rooms. One room has a bunk bed which my child loved going up to. It had a full kitchen with a blender, coffee maker, toaster, oven, and all the kitchen tools you might need.

Well we all felt so great staying at this place, felt home, being so close to sea shore is the key and close to the edge of the Iceland was great experience.
House was clean, communication was great, internet was little slow for laptop which turned out to be good coz we thought we can work but I took off due to that reason and I did enjoyed the stay.

This house is amazing, love how close the porch is to the water. We came with our whole family and newborn, it was awesome being able to stay on the porch and out of the sand with our baby but still feel like we were right at the water. The actual house had all the accommodations we could need. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Pros: Our stay at the beach house was very relaxing, peaceful, and free of everyday stressors. We chose this location because it was at the end of the inhabited island, and we knew that it would be quiet in the off-season. The home is situated perfectly with beautiful views of the ocean, convenient beach access for children (and adults), and a spacious elevated wrap-around porch. We found it to be cozy, clean, and appropriately decorated in the typical ‘beach theme’, without being overly so. A drive into town, to Fort Gaines, or other local attractions on the island took us 10 minutes or less.
Possible Improvements for future: This was our first time staying in an airbnb home where we had to bring our own toilet paper and paper towels (the first roll provided by rental company) and we thought this very odd. The master shower is in need of an update-new caulking would be a start. Additionally, the below deck spray hose did not work during our stay.
We would def. stay here again.

Awesome place if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. The house was amazing, but what we liked the most was the amount of shells you can find in the area. There’s also about a 9 mile stretch of undeveloped beach right past the house.

The Beach House was the perfect size for our group of 8. Neat, clean and comfortable. The layout was perfect. Loved all the windows! Back sliding glass door provided a beautiful view of the ocean and beach. We spent a lot of time on the back porch. There were only two chairs provided but we had brought some for the beach anyways. The view from back porch was beautiful. I was concerned from the pictures seeing the other house slightly in front of this house – trust me, it was fine. When you walk down the stairs from back porch and you are “on the beach” steps from the ocean – all is good! Tons of seashells it was fun to collect.
Quiet and peaceful area. Beautiful sunrise and sunset each day!
Water was rough but the weather was crazy, colder than normal. None of that can be helped.
We brought all of our food from home. Only ate out one meal at Islanders – very good.
Played golf one day.
It was our first time to DI and we will be back.

Overall the house was very comfortable. Right on the beach with beautiful views of both sunrise and sunset. Within walking distance to the west end beach. Only negative was some of the mattresses need to be changed the back bedroom downstairs has a pretty significant dip in the middle. Overall we had an amazing week!
