Getting Here is Easy:
Allegiant Airlines now offers direct flights to Gulf Shores from IL, AR, OH, TN, TX, and MO. After landing, hop aboard the scenic Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island—where your reserved golf cart rental* will be waiting.
Dauphin Island is an unpretentious oasis of private beach homes, sugar-white sand, and soul-stirring sunsets.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time. (Children under 2 are welcome and do not count toward occupancy.)
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is NOT pet-friendly.
Parking Instructions
The property has a driveway and parking for several cars. All overflow must be parked at Green Park next to Ship & Shore. Gulf side beach access via streets and courts only – you can park on these streets with a parking pass (we will provide). Do not walk between houses. The closest access point is Sam Houston St, 0.3 miles east of the property.

Perfect all round!!
The blue Crab was absolutely perfect for our annual book club getaway!
The house was so inviting from the moment you stepped into the large, open foyer.
The kitchen was large enough for having 7 ‘chefs’!
The decor was very comfy and beachy.., tastefully put together.
All the amenities that the home featured just added to our amazing stay!
The heated pool was the icing on the cake.
We will be back I’m sure! We recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing comfortable home on amazing Dauphin Island !!

Beautiful Trip to The Blue Crab House!
Just Wow! This was my first time to Dauphin Island and it was such a fun time with my book club ladies. This home is such a beautiful beach home. With an amazing view! I loved all the open and big space this house brought. Such a galore of beautiful bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. Most of all I loved the patio and pool.❤️Everything was beautiful and organized and a great fun time. Thank you for having us (book club ladies) stay in your home. Can’t wait for our next stay💖

The Blue Crab was perfect for our family getaway! Spacious layout, stunning ocean views, and a huge kitchen table for meals and games. The bunk room was a hit with the kids, and the gated pool was a great beach alternative. We loved the kayak, paddleboard, and dreamy hammock above the sand! Only reason it’s not 5 stars: some cabinets and the fridge could use a refresh. Still, a peaceful, private stay—we’d absolutely come back!

We absolutely loved our stay! This home was even better than the pictures showed. There was so much space and our kids loved the bunk room!
They have so many beach toys to be enjoyed, we didn’t need most of ours. A highlight was the kayak! The pool was exactly what our little kids needed. It was about 4 feet deep so perfect for them.
The host was so responsive! They answered so quickly anytime we had a question or concern. We will absolutely be rebooking here and would more than recommend it for your trip to the island. While you’re there check out the little local aquarium and maybe take the ferry across to Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores for an awesome experience!

The house is perfect! Tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. Beds are very comfortable, nice linens. Washer dryer and all appliances clean and functional. Heated pool is amazing. The property backs to the bay with a small beach where kids can play, gulf is across the street. Beautiful sunrise from my bedroom window. The island is low key so very relaxing. We would love to stay again.

Property was clean and beautiful. Beds were comfortable plenty of towels. We had everything we needed. The kayaks and beach chairs were awesome. The kitchen was well equipped. The closest beach parking lot is very small we were unsuccessful getting a spot so walking to beach entrance that was a better option for us.The grill is not propane but charcoal so be prepared.
We will definitely stay again it was a great trip.

Our family loved staying here! My grandkids didn’t want to leave to even go to the zoo! Loved the pool had everything you could need in a kitchen! Location was gorgeous!! Walk to the beach was super short! Loved being on the bay side so quiet! Loved the fact it had kayaks and paddle boards and floats!! Best vacation rental we have ever stayed at!

Beautiful house. Pictures didn’t do it justice. Loved the location and that we all had our own bathrooms. The hammock was enjoyed by us all. The walk to the beach side was maybe three minutes and a literal one minute drive. The only warning I will give all incoming guests… Deets Deep Woods mosquito spray!! You will need it. Also lemon grass oil for the little sand boogers haha. The local store on the island sales both. We are use to them but I can understand some aren’t. Totally still worth it. We actually loved the bay side more than we thought we would.

This house was perfect for our family! It was right on the beach (bay side) and just a few min walk to the public access that was on the gulf side. Best of both worlds! The pool was awesome, the house had everything you would ever need. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was great for our 3 kids. We rented a golf cart for the week and went to the different shops and restaurants. I definitely recommend this house!

We have been coming to Dauphin Island for many years now. This house was by far the best one yet! Although the weather was not the best, the pool was heated, and the beach was right out of your back door. We still had so much fun kayaking and paddleboarding and some great beach barbeques!

Took my extended family to the private beach house to Dauphin Island for spring break in March. The cooler weather was perfect on the beach, combined with a heated pool! We had an excellent experience. Locals were nice, restaurants were great, and the scenery was wonderful I have never been to a beach and collected so many shells! We will definitely be back.

This house is amazing ! The style and decor of the house is so cute and it was very clean and comfortable. Each room having its own bathroom was amazing and the main living area/kitchen was more than enough space for us (6 adults 5 kids- ages 7,4,3,2 and 1) I am in love with that huge kitchen table ! If you’re traveling with little kids, this house being on the bay side is a huge bonus. We went over to the gulf side twice (short walk- we brought a wagon and it wasn’t a bad walk), but the kids wanted to stay on the bay side. Much calmer water. We took advantage of the kayaks and the pool. One day there was a ton of jelly fish so we just spent the rest of the day at the pool! The back deck is huge and we spent a lot of time out there as well, especially when it rained since a large portion of it is covered. The views from both inside and outside the house are beautiful (great design choice to put in so many large windows). There is a small front porch that had two chairs and it was nice to sit there and listen to the waves at night.
We had an issue when we got there of the sliding door not locking and the door handle came off— they were super quick to respond and get it fixed so very pleased with their response time.
This is a great house and we would stay here again! It was a great trip!
Just some things to know if you book this house, especially for those with kids 🙂
1. The two king bed rooms can for sure fit a pack and play. They are not walk in closets, so can’t tuck a sleeping baby in there, but it worked out totally fine without it. The queen bed room possibly could fit a pack and play but would likely be a tight fit. If you moved the dresser over a little it would probably help.
2. The kitchen has kid stuff! There were plastic cups (open cups, none with lids though) , plates and silverware so no need to bring those things
3. If your kids don’t like to sleep warm, bring a fan. The bunk bed room was warmer than the other rooms. It wasn’t too hot, but you could feel a difference between the rest of the house and that room.
4. There is a gate around the pool! No lounge chairs around the pool (but if you’re traveling with kids you aren’t lounging anyways)
5. The pool is small, not your average size pool. Not deep enough for you to dive. We all fit in the pool comfortably, but important to note it’s not your average size pool.

Amazing Beach House
We are pulling out of the Blue Crab right now and I cannot sing its praises enough. It has everything you need for a family friendly amazing vacation. There were 12 of us and it accommodated all our needs. A grill, pool, clean soft sheets and towels, amazing access to the sound and so very close to the beach. It comes with chairs, kayaks, floats and all things beach. It was beautifully decorated and the pool was amazing! We were truly blessed by this week and this house. Cannot recommend this property enough!

Perfect Getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home. Our family of 8 had so much space to relax! The bay side was the perfect choice for our little ones. they were able to play daily in the water without the waves being too strong. We visited the ocean side which was just a quick walk away.
This elegant 4 bedroom home is the perfect getaway for your family. Every bedroom includes a bathroom and the space is astounding. Beautifully decorated but not to the point of being concerned about your children ruining anything! Kid friendly, with table space for everyone to join together to eat. Kitchen had everything that we needed.
The beach towels provided are a game changer! Located right by the sliding doors on the way out to the beach, quick and easy! No need to bring your own. Separate laundry room with an amazing washer and dryer. Beach towels washed and dried so quickly!
Amazing towels for the bathrooms as well as perfect bedding and pillows.
We will definitely be staying here again!

First i would like to thank Adam Johnson for taking care of us and switching us to this house.
We make a trip to Dauphin island every year and love it.
As soon as you walk inside The Blue Crab you say wow.
Spacious ,clean and a wonderful view of the bay.
Furniture was comfortable and i took ownership of the lazyboy chair,kitchen had everything we needed.
And don’t bother bringing pillows,this is the first time everyone in my family said they loved the pillows.
When we got home i actually ordered the same pillows from amazon.
When we first started coming to Dauphin island i always wanted beach side,but the last 2 times we have stayed bayside and loved it just as much.
It is a short walk to both .
Once again a great little vacation for our family.
Also,the sunset and sunrise are amazing.My daughter took some great pics

Simply Perfect
Simply perfect! The Blue Crab has all you need for the perfect family vacation! This year was our first trip visiting Dauphin Island and we fell in love.
The Blue Crab was the perfect location for us! The walk across the street to the beach is easy — even with a few kids in tow. The view of the bay from the house is phenomenal. We loved having access to both the beach and the bay.
The Blue Crab is professionally decorated and makes for a pleasant getaway. It’s like Pottery Barn meets the ocean. The furniture is great too! Some beach houses just throw a hodge podge of furniture and decor together, but you won’t find that at The Blue Crab!
The layout of the house was great. The bedrooms were spacious and there was plenty of room for our family to move about. The beds were comfy and the linens were nice. The bathrooms were well stocked with TP and travel-sized toiletries. There were plenty of nice, plush towels in each bathroom too — which is a necessity with a large family!
This home is also kid friendly! If you’re traveling with little ones, you’ll appreciate the safety plugs in the outlets, the high chair in the kitchen, a drawer full of plastic-ware for the kiddos & a game shelf in the living area! The room with the triple bunk beds was a huge hit with our crew!
If you plan to dine in most days, the kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials and there is a large propane grill downstairs.
The Blue Crab also offers some beach essentials! They have 2 large baskets full of beach towels. In the storage room downstairs there are puddle jumpers, life jackets, beach chairs and sand toys! Although we were prepared, the extra supplies came in handy!
We’d definitely recommend staying in the Blue Crab. We are already planning a return trip to Dauphin Island next year!
