Awesome place! Enjoyed the stay!

The house was really good. It really suited our needs. We had a little problem with the a/c thermostat but maintenance had it fixed within a couple of hours. There was a good breeze that day so we could enjoy our time on the porch. We used the grill so much we ran out of propane, which got changed out quickly too. Communication was excellent! Highly recommend! We would definitely stay here again!
Jessica T. says
Everything you need for a relaxing week at the beach! Host was easy to get in touch with and checked in periodically to see if anything was needed.
Shannon B. says
Beautiful house! We felt right at home. Furniture and beds were comfortable. Lots of light and windows. Our coffee maker wasn’t working and they brought over a new one very quickly.
The views were stunning too. We especially loved watching the many birds in the small tidal pool in front of the house.
Will definitely return!
Tip: We highly recommend staying on this side of the island (bay side) in the spring as it is a bit out of the wind and warmer.
Carlyn S. says
Bayside was a beautiful house. We enjoyed the very well-stocked kitchen, everyone had their own bathroom, and the views were absolutely amazing!
Jeanine V. says
We had a wonderful stay at the house, it was so quiet and peaceful! Beautiful! We would definitely stay again!
Nichole Goff says
We’re so glad you enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting! It sounds like the perfect getaway, and we’d love to welcome you back to Dauphin Island Beach Rentals anytime.

We LOVED this beautiful bay side home!🏡. So peaceful & relaxing! We hope to be back soon!

Hi!! We’re wanting to rent this house sometime this winter – wondering if the fireplace works – and if it’s wood or gas? And I see from reviews that there’s kayaks….does this house have them? Thanks!
Dave Banes says
The fireplace is electric, and yes there are two kayaks. Hope to see you soon!

We really enjoyed the deck and our dogs were easily managed.
Eric F. says
Simply a perfect location and stunning accommodations. Every room had amazing views and gave me the perfect relaxation week that I needed! Love this spot! Definitely would come back.
Anita B. says
Beautiful house with bathrooms in every bedroom. The open layout of the kitchen and living room was perfect for 6 people. Loved having the bay in our backyard. The West end beach was just a short drive. The back porch was a nice addition to our roomy house.
Machelle S. says
Beautiful house, needs a couple updates (shower door in middle upstairs bathroom needs to be replaced/fixed) but otherwise PERFECT for my daughter and her friends final Senior ’25 gathering before they go seperate ways for college
Greg S. says
Great location & facilities. The 2 kayaks were a hit. Check-in was easy & the kitchen/dining/living room (all one room) was great!
Matt R. says
We had a lovely stay at the house. The house has a beautiful view of the bay, and it was wonderful to watch the sunset. The kitchen was great, open concept, and the grill was wonderful to cook on every night. The walk to the beach was down the block through a little path, which worked well for us. Overall another wonderful visit to Dauphin Island.
Terri M. says
Visiting as a family twice a year is a tradition we cherish, and over the years, we’ve stayed in some lovely places. But none have touched our hearts the way the Bay House did. It felt like home the moment we arrived—peaceful, beautiful, and filled with warmth. We’re already dreaming of coming back next year for two weeks, if we’re lucky enough to find it available.
Hillary R. says
Extremely comfortable. Super clean. Kitchen has everything needed to cook. Fast responses from messages. Plenty of room and seating for our party of 8. Fun ammenties include board/card games as well as corn hole. Perfect for families. Grassy areas to walk pet did not have any sand spurs. The board walk was really convenient. Path to beach is flat and easy to walk and travel with wagon. There is a pantry area to store food and 2 refrigerators which was incredible. Would 100% recommend and will definitely stay again. We hated to leave!
Colleen P. says
Beautiful home. So relaxing and loved the private gulf beach. Will most definitely be revisiting.
Paul S. says
The space in this house is only trumped by its location. You have your own private beach on the calm Bay side of the island. Then you have easy access to the public beaches on the other side of the island. All are within walking distance. My kids loved coming the beach for hermit crabs, watching the jellies float by and even saw a stingray. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here.
Theresa L. says
God did amazing things at this location! We had a God glorified women’s retreat!
Deana S. says
Our stay was wonderful! The view from the house is amazing and the setting feels remote and peaceful. The accommodations were perfect for our large family. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. Having 2 refrigerators was very convenient with a group of our size … 10 adults and 2 under age 2. We hope to rent this house again next spring!
Nina N. says
Amazing stay!
Daniel S. says
The initial reaction to the house when you step in the front door is “WOW”, the amazing view of the Mississippi Sound on the north side of the island takes your breath away. The house had plenty of space for my wife and I, two friends that traveled, and our Airedale terrier. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and gadgets and the two refrigerators we had plenty of cold storage for food and adult beverages. The house is a short walk to public beach access. The management group was more than accommodating when we had questions about the island and our parking pass. We even met the home owner who also was very friendly.
Sandhya A. says
Great stay! We were a big diverse group from seniors to toddlers and the house worked out great for all of us. Kids had fun playing on the small beach by the house and adults loved the proximity to the boat ramp for fishing adventures. Will definitely stay again!
Steve D. says
We really enjoyed our stay. Golf cart rental on site was super convenient.
Emily S. says
We had the best time at The Bay House. It was perfect for our party of 6 (3 adults, 1 teenager, 2 young children) and there was still space for more. We were pleasantly surprised that each bedroom had it’s own bathroom and my 2 young kids loved sleeping up in the crow’s nest. The kitchen was pretty well stocked – I would add some more cutting boards, scissors, and some tools for eating crabs. We donated a pair of tongs during our stay as there weren’t any. There are floorboard nails sticking up out of the floors on the staircase. Not terrible but it was noticeable. The kayaks were so fun to paddle around the tide pools and we enjoyed swimming in the bay as well as the ocean side, which is just a short walk away. We played bags every night on the porch – that set was so great to have. Neighbors to the west weren’t especially kind – I’m sure they’re tired of tourists. The fishing poles available were all broken so we bought one. All in all this is our new favorite DI house!
Mitchell A. says
We loved staying here. It was really nice being on the bay side with dogs, and you’re really close to the public beach on the gulf side. We loved the house and location. Only downside is the A/C didn’t work very well in the main room. It worked great everywhere else in the house!
Lisa S. says
The Bay House hit all the marks for our family from the Midwest. Agree with past review of “Old Florida Charm” on Dauphin Island. This house has good bones with a floor plan that suited our family well. While general upkeep/handyman would make a difference for upkeep on the property, the stay was great for our family to share the summer experience together. Location was perfect to be on the bay for exploring and near the beach for gulf fun. Cooking seafood was a highlight for all in the kitchen. Hint: if you’re a cook, suggest bring all necessities needed for staying on the island and meal prep. Would stay again!!!
Jonathan K. says
Absolutely beautiful. A hidden gem. Highly recommended.
Linda M. says
We spent 7 days at Bay House and are so excited to come back next year. Everything about our stay was wonderful. Highly recommend it!

stay was great. good location. quiet and peaceful. will definitely be back.
Erika N. says
The house is comfortable and spacious for a family. Three en-suite bedrooms/bathrooms are unheard of at the beach! You can’t beat the location. The gorgeous bay has a beach in the backyard and the gulf beach is across the street. We were given parking passes for close/non-public beach parking – a huge win for those carrying a lot of gear. Our teenagers had a ball fishing and exploring the backyard bay at low tide and the tidal pools. You’ll have no regrets choosing Bay House.
Meghan B. says
Perfect stay! Incredible house. Loved how the bedrooms were upstairs so that the main level had tons of room with windows that looked out across the bay. Comfy furniture. Updated bathrooms. We enjoyed the walk along the bay shore and the entrance to the gulf beach was right around the corner. Would definitely stay here again.
Jessica M. says
We absolutely loved our stay at the Bay House. The house was just as pictured, well thought out spaces, comfortable beds and linens, and a well-appointed kitchen. As silly as this may sound, we liked how many beach towels were stocked in the laundry room… we were able to always have dry towels for each beach visit. We loved the access to the bay and we were out there everyday at sunrise and sunset. The property managers and maintenance man were both very responsive and helpful.
Rhonda B. says
Bayhouse is the cutest!!! It is super comfortable and homey. There was plenty of room for our group’s 3 couples and two singles. There was ample parking space for 3 cars. We cooked several meals at the property and the kitchen is very well appointed. We could not have asked for a better experience and we are already making plans to visit again.
Haley B. says
There is one word that I can say about the Bay House “ WONDERFUL”. The views are breathtaking and this house was made to make many beautiful memories with families. We enjoyed every minute of our trip. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and Dauphin Island Beach Rentals!!!
Megan C. says
We made great memories this week at the bay house! Our favorite part was the view of the bay. We got to see dolphins while grilling dinner on the deck a few days which was SO COOL! The kids loved going to the bay beach to look for shells and catch minnows and crabs. Close to public beach, local shops and restaurants. The little extras like beach chairs, corn hole, extra fridge were great touches! ❤️
Mark F. says
This property is located in a quiet area of Dauphin Island on the bay. We enjoyed the view, the tranquility and the house. Thanks for the like-new mattresses! Areas for improvement would be the beach equipment. Chairs and play equipment needs replaced. I’ll say, though, that is is minor in the overall scheme of things. We enjoyed our stay.
Nichole Goff says
Thank you for your kind review! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the peaceful bayfront location, beautiful views, and the tranquility the home has to offer. It’s also wonderful to know the new mattresses helped make your stay even more comfortable.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the beach chairs and play equipment. Guest suggestions like yours are incredibly helpful, and we’ll be sure to share them with the property owner as we continue working to enhance the guest experience.
Thank you again for choosing to stay with us. We’re delighted you enjoyed your time on Dauphin Island and hope to welcome you back for another relaxing getaway soon!
SCOTT R. says
We had amazing time . Beautiful house, beaches, boats to rent, easy access to everything via a rented golf cart. See next year!
Jennifer P. says
Amazing stay, incredible views!! Would recommend 1000%
Marion S. says
Overall a good experience. It is a very spacious house with charm and newer furnishings. It sits on a nice lot and access to both beaches is easy. We had a few minor issues: some TVs were not working, some windows have so much moisture inside them, you can’t see out, some areas in the house were still sandy. There was a large sticky pest trap in the pantry/laundry room which our dog got into (bad experience) There should not be sticky traps in a pet friendly rental.
While using the grill the gas ran out after just a few minutes, but the agency brought a new bottle the next day. The outdoor space is worn out just from use and beach weather.
We would still come back. The house lacks nothing, generous amounts of things to make your stay comfortable, ie lots of towels, two fridges, an ice maker, nice linens, remodeled bathrooms.
Nichole Goff says
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed the home’s spacious layout, charming character, updated furnishings, and convenient access to both beaches. It’s wonderful to know the thoughtful amenities, including the extra refrigerator, ice maker, plentiful towels, comfortable linens, and remodeled bathrooms, helped make your stay enjoyable.
We also appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. We’re sorry to hear about the issues with the TVs, the window seals, lingering sand, and especially the experience with the sticky pest trap and your dog. We understand how upsetting that must have been, and we’ll be sharing your feedback with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for review. We’re also glad our team was able to quickly provide a replacement propane tank so you could continue enjoying the grill.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for choosing to stay with us. We’re delighted to hear you would return, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Dauphin Island for an even better stay!
Marla W. says
Stayed a few days for an anniversary trip and was everything we wanted. Beautiful surroundings, especially loved the decks and the views. Easy access to the beach and close to great food. We will definitely be back
Elisabeth J. says
Dauphin Island is truly a hidden gem in Alabama! The Bay House was perfect for us to celebrate my 40th birthday! Loved being able to bring the pup too. Well worth every minute!
Linda says
Is there a place to dock jet skis if we bring them down?
Adam says
Sorry, this property doesn’t have a pier.
Coleen Gephart says
Your description of the beds say there are 2 kings, 1 Queen and a full. Plus the trundle and daybed. I don’t see all of the beds, could you explain please. Thank you
Adam says
The picture of the full bed in the wood paneled room includes a trundle underneath it. The picture of the white sofa is a daybed. Thanks
Carole Baker says
where is the closest beach acccess
Jackie McDaniel says
Closest is behind the house itself. Other than that, off of the main road all the way down to the west end.
Adam says
You can also walk or drive down St. Stephens which is 0.4 miles.
Karen Kuhl says
There a pool nearby available for use?
Adam says
There is a pool at Pirate’s Bar and Grill. There is a fee for using it.
