Description
Enjoy this adorably cute cottage on the Mallard Street Canal on Dauphin Island! Sunset Point is a charming and nostalgic beach house built for fishermen and beachgoers alike! The home has tile and vinyl plank flooring throughout, an updated kitchen with a gorgeous backsplash and a large flat screen TV in the comfortably furnished living room with spectacular water views of the Gulf of Mexico.
The king suite is spacious with views of the canal and Gulf of Mexico. The other bedrooms both have Queen beds, giving you real sleep space!
The oversized deck and bulkhead will be on of your favorite spots. It gives a great ambiance where you can enjoy the salt air and watch boats. Or bring a line or crab trap and fish right out of the canal.
The beaches are very close, a 3-minute walk to gulf side beaches and a 2-minute walk to the calmer bay side beach.
PLEASE NOTE: the kayaks are NOT available for guest use.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following house rules:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly with prior permission. Only dogs, must be approved by insurance policy – 2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax.
Parking Instructions
The driveway accommodates 4 vehicles. You can access the canal directly behind the property. To access Gulf Beach, turn left out of the driveway on Mallard St and turn left on St Stephens St. It is a 3-minute walk. To access the bayside beaches, turn right on St. Stephens St. It is a 2-minute walk.

Quiet place to stay. The Aquarium and Audubon walking trail were good to visit. the beaches were good with few people around in November. There are only a few places to eat and only one store to get groceries. So do your grocery shopping before coming to the island. Mobile, AL is about 40 minutes away if you care to drive there for more entertainment. The condo was as expected. It was clean and well taken care off, with no surprises.

Lovely location and our family enjoyed how close the beach was of a walk and the provided kayaks were an added bonus. We really enjoyed our stay and the view and sounds from the back deck, riding bikes within the community.

This house was exactly what we needed for our family to have a great vacation! We enjoyed having the canal right off the back steps so we could fish & take out our paddle boards. The dog friendly beach was only a 5 minute walk away which was perfect. The beds were very comfortable! Would definitely stay again but I would book directly with Dauphin Island Beach Rentals instead of booking through Airbnb.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunset Point. It was walking distance to our relatives beach rental, and easy walk to bay and gulf. The kitchen was nicely furnished and decks were great for relaxing. We had awesome time catching fish in the canal. I wished we could have stayed another week!! Fun by all including our little dog Allie.

The house was nice. plenty of room for the 5 of us and the dIt had plenty of room to move around without being on top of each other. Everything was clean. We cooked dinner multiple times and found everything we needed in one drawer/cabinet or another.
We definitely recommend renting from Dauphin Island Beach Rentals. Cat was professional and polite.

Great location, easy walk to the beach, beautiful scenery! We were able to watch fireworks from the back deck for the 4th of July, while enjoying a bowl of ice cream. Great layout of the place. Would definitely book with Dauphin Island Beach Rentals again!

The stay was great but the dock at low tide was dry and my boat was sitting on the sand for hours. Had to take the boat to a marina to park it because I couldn’t keep it there.

Wonderful place to stay where you can walk to the gulf or bay sides. You can step right out your door and fish off the dock. Quiet during the weekdays, very peaceful.

The house was super cute, in my opinion, even better than the pics. The layout of the bedrooms was great and having 2 1/2 bathrooms was very convenient. My family and I enjoyed fishing off of the dock out back, more lights back there would be a great upgrade! The only downs about our stay were 1) the dryer was not functioning and having a washer & dryer is a must have for my family on vacation. 2) the amount of household supplies was disappointing. I brought my own laundry detergent but there was 1 small roll of paper towels, 1 laundry pod for towels, and a sample size bottle of dish liquid. There was no dish pods or detergent for the dishwasher and it was part of the checkout requests. 3) the water pressure was very low, but that may be normal for the island I’m not sure. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!
