Description
Second Wind is a popular Dauphin Island beach rental with great Gulf views and is just across the 2-lane street from the Gulf of Mexico Beach.
Second Wind has an ideal beach house layout- 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a Game Room, a small, private, heated pool, and roof-top Crow’s Nest; it’s easy to see why this beach house is one of the most popular vacation rentals on Dauphin Island.
This elevated, two-story home has a Master Suite on the first level with a private full bath. There is also a half-bath off the kitchen. The Great Room is large, open, and has a flat-screen TV over the fireplace. The Second Level has three bedrooms, two of which share a Jack and Jill half bathroom with a shower. There is a third full bathroom on this level and a Game Room (great for nighttime or rainy days). The 4th bedroom is a small bunk room just off the Game Room, which is quite small and suitable for children. The rooftop has a “Crow’s Nest,” which provides panoramic views of the Island. This house is Not Pet-friendly.
Gulf Beach access is 1/8 mile from the end of your driveway!
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you! The pool is heated from October thru April.
House Rules:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is Not Pet-Friendly
Parking Instructions
The property driveway has enough parking space for four cars. All excess parking must be parked at Green Park which is located next to Ship & Shore. Gulf side beach access streets are; Raphael Semmes Ct, St Stephens Ct, Sam Houston Ct, and Sehoy St. You may park on these free beach access streets with a parking pass (we will provide). Please do not walk between houses when accessing the gulf side beach. The closest beach access point is Sehoy St. Sehoy is 1/8 mile east of property.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The whole area is laid back and peaceful, the house was comfortable. We love how it was less crowded than other beach locations!

Great place to stay! Kitchen was VERY well stocked with enough dishes/flatware/appliances for all. The kids LOVED the pool. Short walk to a nice, quiet beach. And the rooftop deck was perfect for watching the sunrises & sunsets! Would definitely stay again!

We had 3 families with kids raging from 2-15. The crows next was the best part of this house. We watched every sunrise up there with our coffee. Spent a lot of time playing pool and foosball which was helpful for entertaining children. The pool was also great for the young children who weren’t the biggest fans of the ocean. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation! It was so easy to communicate with the hosts. If you decide to stay here say hi to the mourning dove that hangs out by the house….we named him Dave!

I am greatly looking forward to my families week vacation at Second Wind. I have a couple of questions. Is there a large crock pot for cooking? Do we need to bring clean linen? Is the pool fully functional? and do we need to bring propane for the grill? Can we use a firestick on the TVs? I greatly appreciate your responses as we start packing for our trip. We are all traveling from different locations and would like to ensure we are prepared. Thank you again.

We are excited to have you! The property does have a crock pot. You do NOT need to bring any linens. Propane is provided, let us know if you run out and we can bring more. The pool is fully functional and you are welcome to plug in a firestick.

How do you access the beach/gulf…… do you walk across the other houses yards????

The description for “Second Wind” says that there is a private heated pool, but I do not see this in the pictures. Can you please give me a description of the pool and let me know if it is functioning.
