Step inside to a bright and welcoming coastal interior designed for gathering and relaxing after a day on the water. The open concept living room is centered around a large sectional sofa and wall mounted TV, creating a comfortable space for movie nights, games, or simply enjoying time together. Large sliding glass doors and windows frame beautiful water views and fill the home with natural light while providing direct access to the outdoor deck.
The kitchen combines clean coastal style with practical functionality, featuring white shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a large central island with open shelving. Whether preparing a seafood dinner or quick beach snacks, the layout keeps everyone connected.
Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area comfortably seats up to eight guests and is ideal for family meals and group gatherings. Hardwood style flooring, crown molding, recessed lighting, and coastal inspired décor carry throughout the home, creating a polished but relaxed beach cottage atmosphere.
Every bedroom includes a TV with Hulu Live streaming, giving guests a comfortable place to unwind at the end of the day.

Outdoor living is where Sandy Cheeks truly shines. The large shaded back deck offers panoramic views of the water and the Dauphin Island bridge, creating a favorite gathering spot for outdoor meals, sunsets, and relaxing evenings. Guests can enjoy the large dining table, spacious seating area, and grill while taking in the coastal breeze.
Just beyond the deck, the private soundside beach creates a calm and family friendly waterfront experience. The gently sloping shallow waters are perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and helping children learn to snorkel in a more protected environment. Unlike Gulf beaches, the soundside waters typically have no rip currents and fewer encounters with hazardous marine life, making it especially appealing for younger and less confident swimmers.
The beachside deck and hammocks create a peaceful place to unwind near the water, while included kayaks, crab traps, beach toys, and cornhole provide plenty of entertainment throughout your stay. Guests can even fish directly from the property and cook their catch for dinner.
For traditional Gulf beach days, public Gulf access is located approximately 0.35 miles from the end of the driveway.

During your stay, explore Fort Gaines, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, and the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Local restaurants, bike paths, and shops make it easy to enjoy the relaxed pace of island life.
This is a pet free home, making it a great fit for guests who prefer a clean, allergy friendly environment.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is NOT pet friendly.
10. The next door pier is NOT part of the property and should NOT be accessed.
11. Cargo lifts are not available to guests and can not be used. They are not permitted by Home Owner Insurance Policies.
Parking Instructions
The property has a driveway and parking for several cars. All overflow must be parked at Green Park next to Ship & Shore. Gulf side beach access via streets and courts only – you can park on these streets with a parking pass (we will provide). Do not walk between houses. The closest access point is Sam Houston St to your east and Sehoy St to your west. Both are 0.35 miles from your driveway.
PLEASE NOTE THE PIER NEXT DOOR IS NOT PART OF YOUR RENTAL AND SHOULD NOT BE ACCESSED. It is private property.

Sandy Cheeks worked great for our family get together. Great location! We enjoyed the large back deck and spent lots of time out there. The deck down on the bay and access to the water was also a plus. We had some trouble with the door locks initially, but when we contacted customer services they were very quick to respond.

We will be back! The place was spotless when we walked in, all the bedrooms were perfectly set up. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking! The private beach was perfect, we enjoyed many sunsets and made great memories. Overall this place is a 10/10. We loved it so much we hope to come back sooner than later.

dislocation is not meant for anybody who is looking for and out of this world night life. This is for people who simply want a peaceful and quiet getaway. Therefore, this island location was the absolute best. It was the perfect getaway for our 25th anniversary. It was plenty of space for 8 adults to laugh and kick back. Sitting on the beach platform watching the fish jump out of the water, watching the sun rise and sunset and experiencing the breeze off the water was everything for us.
We absolutely loved it and plan on returning to the exact same spot here soon.

Beautiful home
This home never fails to give our family a beautiful tranquil vacation. The panoramic views are breath taking. The home has had some recent updates including new furniture in the den, it now has 3 King bedrooms, 1 queen bedroom and bunk beds for 4 children in the 5th bedroom. We loved the new decorations and the kitchen is well equipped. We used the deck for hanging out as well as grilling fresh shrimp and steaks! The private bay beach and deck are great for watching kids play in the sand and having evening cocktails to watch the sun set. This home also has easy access to the gulf which is across the street. Dauphin Island is a gem and so is this home!

We had a truly wonderful experience at Sandy Cheeks. The location was great, with plenty of parking available. The residence was immaculately maintained, spacious, and perfectly suited for our needs. Its proximity to the beach and bay side was extremely convenient, within walking distance. The rear deck offered stunning sunset views. My children loved the outdoor games provided. We appreciated the availability of kayaks and hammocks. During our kayaking excursions, we were fortunate enough to spot sea turtles and dolphins, making the experience truly magical. The interior design of the house was exquisite, featuring elegant furniture and comfortable bedding. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking if we wanted to stay in or grill. We will definitely be returning to Sandy Cheeks. It is absolute perfection!

Our stay at Sandy Cheeks was incredible. The house was spacious, immaculate, and tastefully decorated. Dreamy Getaway!
This beach house was absolutely perfect for our family! The sunsets were breathtaking every evening, painting the sky with stunning colors. One of the highlights was the extra beach toys available, especially the kayaks. Kayaking on the bay near sunset was magical—we even saw dolphins swimming nearby!
The house itself was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone to relax. The huge grassy area was a great bonus, giving the kids space to run and play when we took a break from the beach.
Everything about our stay was fantastic, from the thoughtful amenities to the unbeatable views. We can’t wait to come back!

The stay was so nice. The house is so clean. Even the showers, which can be grity sometimes. The house offers so much. Washer, dryer, beach items, and a full kitchen of everything you need to cook a great dinner. It has an enormous back porch. Great for morning coffee and great sunsets.

We spent a wonderful time with family in this beautiful home with panoramic views of the bay! The beach is just across the street and easily accessible. Overall, this beach house is beautiful just like the island. This was our first time visiting and we will be back. The house was welcoming with a beautiful view and coffee and lunch on the back porch is amazing!
We had a few issues I have discussed with the rental company and hope they were heard and improved.

This house is just as described and as shown in the pictures. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Our adult kids enjoyed the kayaks, it was nice the use of those is included with the house.
It was so nice being on the Bay, our 3 year old great-grandbaby loved playing in the sand, looking for shells and playing in the water. I would definitely rent this house again.

This home is on the bay side of the island which made for a lovely peaceful getaway. We loved relaxing in the hammocks while the kids took the kayaks out into the bay. We also made friends with people across the street which allowed us to walk across the road to access the ocean side whenever we wanted access to the waves. The home itself was lovely and comfortable. It was a dream of a trip from start to finish!

Went with the whole family to Dauphin Island. The house was exactly as we expected. It was great to have enough bedrooms to spread out. We loved being able to walk outside to our beach in the backyard. The kayaks, crab traps, and beach toys for the kids made for a lot of fun in and by the water. We didn’t catch any crabs, but ate some delicious claws at Pirates Bar and Grill- so that made up for it. We ran out of propane one day, but all I had to do was text and they sent someone out right away to replace it. The house was great (and clean!) and the hosts were quick and responsive. Wasn’t sure we’d like staying on the Bay side, but it ended up great. Calmer waters for the kids to kayak! I’d stay on that side again next time. And I’d definitely recommend this house as well and stay again!

This home was perfect for us and our extended family during Spring Break. We enjoyed the private beach, hammocks, and dock daily! We also enjoyed the common space and large deck off of the home. We cooked many meals in the kitchen where we had space for multiple people to help with prep. We hope to go back to Dauphin Island again in the future!

The location of this house is perfect with the bay in the back and the ocean across the street. Bring BUG SPRAY! So many bugs and they bite. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the back porch or the bay. The beach is clean and quiet. It’s an easy walk to get there. There isn’t much to do on the island besides relaxing and enjoying the beach life…which is perfect!! Our kids loved finding all of the hermit crabs on the bay. We weren’t super impressed with the restaurants on the island, but the prices were right for what you got. The kitchen was well stocked, so we were able to cook without missing anything. We would definitely return! It was a great week spent with family.

We really appreciated that kayaks were provided and highly recommend setting out at sunset for dolphin encounters.

A group of families rented this house for a relaxing Labor Day and had a wonderful time! The porch is exceptionally inviting, and we loved that our kids had freedom to run down to their own little beach. Good layout for each family to have their own bedroom/bathroom, with older kids sharing a bunk room.

The house is just like the pictures! There were plenty of towels, beach towels, TP, paper towels, shampoo, soap, dish soap, and laundry detergent for our 5 day stay. We mainly drove to the public beaches, which are all very close. Our toddler enjoyed the beach toys that they had available.
