Description
Escape to Saltaire, a charming waterfront retreat nestled on Dauphin Island’s sound side. This delightful beach house offers breathtaking views of both the Gulf and the sound, promising an unforgettable vacation for up to 10 guests.
Step inside Saltaire to discover a spacious common area, featuring a pet-friendly living space, water view dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. The small laundry room, equipped with a stacked washer/dryer combo unit, is conveniently located near the living room.
The SW King Suite boasts a comfortable king bed, dedicated closet, dresser, and private bathroom with a shower tub combo. Accessible from this suite, a door leads to the laundry room for added convenience. The east side jack-and-jill suite features a king bed in the southern room with a dedicated closet, while the northern bunk room offers a full-over-full bunk bed and dedicated closets. The jack and jill bathroom features a shower stall.
Outside, the wrap-around porch offers a covered sitting area facing the sound side, where guests can relax and enjoy the tranquil views. An outdoor dining area overlooks the private beach, providing the perfect setting for alfresco meals. Additionally, the porch features a grill and a small sitting area facing the Gulf side.
Beneath the house, guests will discover a hidden gem—a small storage area perfect for beach accessories. But that’s not all; a swing and hammock offer the ideal spot to unwind while enjoying breathtaking views of the private beach on the sound side.
Saltaire’s location on the sound side offers guests access to a private beach with gentler waters and a shallow slope, making it ideal for families with young children to splash and play safely. Or, you can enjoy a short drive to one of Dauphin Island’s public beaches and relax on the bright sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico. As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note:
Please note the following house rules:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly with prior permission. Only dogs, must be approved by insurance policy—2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax.
Parking Instructions
The property has a driveway and parking for several cars. All overflow must be parked at Green Park next to Ship & Shore. Gulf side beach access via streets and courts only – you can park on these streets with a parking pass. Do not walk between houses. The nearest beach access will be Sam Houston or Sehoy which is a half mile in either direction. Thank you!

had some weak chairs and minor damage to Laundry room door. rear door has to be slammed to close. other then that this place was awesome. great location bay in the back and ocean in the front. look forward to coming back to DI.

We had a great time and the saltaire is a great place for your furry companions with a fenced in deck and small pen to keep them in it was just what we wanted also has kayaks life jackets, sand toys,hammock,front an back deck we absolutely loved it and our pups did too i would def recommend it and host was friendly and kept us up to date on everything we needed an took care of us great place an great people!

The private beach access alone is awesome but this house is lovely, definitely provided us a dream vacation! 🩷 We didn’t bring the dogs this year but they have a perfect setup to accommodate your furry friends if you want to bring them along.

Great location near west end beach, and with private little beach area on the bay behind the house. Perfect for dogs, with a fenced-in run in the back yard and with gates at the stairs, so dogs can be let out onto the wrap-around deck without worrying about them getting loose. The back porch facing the bay was my favorite space, to sit with coffee every morning and watch/listen to all the birds. We even saw some cute little green tree frogs on the deck one night! You can see the gulf side across the street, but would need to drive to get a place to access it. Comfy beds and living room, very clean when we arrived. Kitchen has all the dishes/appliances you’d need for cooking meals, and a few very minimal supplies like oil & pepper. Everything on the island is within a 10 minute drive. There were kayaks to use (w/paddles & lifejackets) and a few misc. beach toys, but bring your own beach chairs. No recycling service on the island apparently–we packed ours out with us.

Very beautiful location! Only issue we had were that sheets on bed had yellow stains when we arrived and pillows had other darker stains. There is an old rocker that is on its last leg and almost broke when I sat on it. However, the distance to the bay and hermit crabs by the shore every night made up for it. We enjoyed our stay.

Saltaire does have amazing views of both the gulf and the bay. The owner of this property did own a lot across the street and allowed his guests to use it during their stay. He has since sold the lot and future guests will need to use the access streets Sam Houston and Sehoy to access the beach. Sam Houston is a half mile to the left from the end of the driveway and Sehoy is a half mile to the right. DIBR is looking forward to your next stay here 🙂

Furnature was mediocre and torn in places. The shower bar in one of the bathrooms kept falling down. Overall the stay was not too bad.

We loved the house!! The only thing I wished was that it was on the Gulf side. Our beach for the house on the bay was little and we didn’t swim there. We went to the middle and west end beaches.

Saltaire has beautiful views all the way around (Gulf of Mexico on one side and bay on the other). We really enjoyed our stay and felt at-home. We would definitely stay here again. There was plenty of room for our two small families. We also love the small town of Dauphin Island versus the hubbub of Gulf Shores.

Great views from every window. Needs some updating to make it even better. The grill was pretty rusted so hopefully it’ll get replaced. The porch could use fixing up too. Maintenance came out quickly and finished the job in a timely manner to fix a few things that were emergent. Overall we had an amazing stay.

We enjoyed our stay here and the views. The kids enjoyed playing in the water and looking at shells. Overall, lovely stay and house was clean.
One thing to note is that the living room furniture is fairly stained. It probably was not the best color/material choice for a beachside house with all the water/sand.

Location is amazing. Communication is really good with them when we needed something. It’s a little scarce on supplies inside and could use some updating, but you can’t beat the location. We would stay again.

The lot across the street has been sold. Guests can go to Sehoy St or Sam Houston St to access the gulf. We provide parking passes in the house for you to fill in the details so you can park on the street without being ticketed.
