Description
This large, beautiful Dauphin Island beach house has a private bay-front beach, plus great views of the Gulf of Mexico, which is literally across the street! This bay front 3 bedroom (plus 1 bunk bedroom off the master) , 3.5 bath home features a large, 800 sq ft screened-in porch that runs the entire length of the house! Relaxation has 1 king bed, 2 queen beds and a bunk bed. This home also has a separate bunk room that sleeps 2 off the master bedroom on the first level for the little ones. The sleeper sofa is located in a sitting room off the kitchen.
This house was built in 1994 and is one of the older homes on the west end. The property is priced accordingly.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax applies.
Parking Instructions
The property has a driveway and parking for several cars. All overflow must be parked at Green Park next to Ship & Shore. Gulf side beach access via streets and courts only – you can park on these streets with a parking pass. Do not walk between houses. The closest access point is directly across from the property on Veritas Ct.

The house itself was okay. Definitely would look for new cleaning company. We had to do a little minor cleaning when we got there. We had an issue with the kitchen sink being clogged, someone was there quickly when I reported it. Could use a little work, but all in all, we enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying here! We enjoyed watching the dolphins in the bay and watching people fish everyday. We saw lots of herons, pelicans, and seagulls flying around. We had an issue with the WiFi and it was fixed really fast. Can’t wait to come back!

The house is in bad shape. Spots in the floor you can step through. There is rotten boards everywhere. There is black mold around the air vents and many other issues. This house has carpet in it and stained up. There’s dog hair all over the couch also. I will not be staying there again. If we could have found other accommodations we would have left. I would like to know how old the pictures are because the home is nothing like it. This should not be rented until the major repairs are fixed

Dauphin Island is a great little town in a great location with lots of friendly people. We will return, soon. This specific house needs a little TLC to make it worthy of such a great place. Some things that impacted our relaxing vacation: No internet/TV for the entire trip. We are in our 60’s and can’t go full-on vacation mode all day. We need the internet to look for area attractions, etc…
The loose stairway railing was a bother.
Missing outlet plate on the den behind the recliner.
Spongy floor just inside the front door to the right.
No working lights on the back porch. Several others around the house.
Wobbling MB fan.
Jacuzzi tub side panels were hanging down and the tub wouldn’t come on.
Couldn’t find a way to close blinds on most windows, even the clear bathroom windows!

Dauphin Island Beach Rental addressed any concerns or issues that we had, right away. They were a great company to rent from. The home was as described. It is in need of some very minor repairs. The newer, extra staircase under the home was a great surprise, and makes up for the staircase at the very front of the house. The house was a great space for our grandchildren and the whole family to spread out. Plenty of bathrooms. And a great big space for cooking and dining. Beautiful sunsets to top it off. We would recommend this home and Dauphin Island Beach Rentals.

Beware!!! House being built right next door. Sawing, hammering, generator, country music. We asked to be moved to a different rental. Would have to pay for current rental and new rental. Not paying for two. Then it was suggested that I go to welcome center and get a coupon for an activity to get out of the house. I paid for a house called “Relaxation”. It wasnt. It does state in the contract that they are not responsible for construction noise but I feel some sort of effort to move us or knock something off the price would have been good customer service. READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT!
Carpets had redish stains. Found a clump of long hair. We don’t have long hair. Pots and pans in horrible shape. Non-stick coating scratched off. Coffee pot leaked. Grill unusable. Rusty. Front stairs slant forward. Not safe. Batteries in TV remotes were dead. Luckily we had some. Spring sticking out of back of couch. Almost cut my leg. The location is beautiful except for the construction noise.

Since your stay, we have performed a full deep clean and replaced or repaired the items you mentioned, including cookware, grill, batteries, and furniture. As other reviews state, it is definitely an older property that needs safety updates. Extremely beautiful location. The bay beach felt like our own private paradise. The key code didn’t work upon arrival. We were given a secondary code, which allowed us to get in, but then never worked again for us. Definitely get the key out of lock box or unlock a second door just incase. We didn’t keep valuables inside, so instead of contacting again, we just modified. The office staff is welcoming and helpful. All and all the rate is high due to location I understand, but the owner could definitely do the stair and screen repairs, along with other minor security and safety upgrades. It was clean, just old. For the age and lack of updates, it was exceptional.

Beautiful home in a great location. First time to DI, location was great. House was perfect for our size family (6 adults and 2 children)
Amenities in kitchen could be updated (pots/pans) We only saw a few minor repairs that could be fixed. Bottom step on back porch leading to bay needs replacing, Bathroom shower door in master bathroom doesn’t close all the way making a mess for after showers, we had an ant problem in living room but was dealt with quickly. Very simple fixes but compared to the amazing time we had those are small things.
Local restaurants were very busy and without reservations there were not many places to go but loved the community and the ease of getting to the bay and ocean.
Would definitely recommend to others and definitely come back to visit again. Overall, we all were very satisfied!

This was our second stay at “Relaxation” on Dauphin Island. You cannot beat the location. The house is a beauty but she’s been through hurricanes so her faults are to be expected. We’ll be back next year!

We had a great time! The house needs a little TLC as a few of the windows were hard to open, the shades we struggled to lift or lower, etc. Just little things like that. Overall the house was perfect for our families. We had teenagers and younger kids and we all had a great time! We were so appreciative of the quick response to issues we had. A board fell off the steps one day and I let them know that evening and they had maintenance down first thing in the morning to fix it. It was a fantastic week and we look forward to staying again!!!

Our week’a stay at Relaxation was incredible. The house was very roomy, screened back porch a dream. The views were amazing and the privacy priceless! The bed was extremely comfortable. Huge kitchen with Long Island was more than enough space for any gathering! We loved it. And dauphin island beach rentals staff very quick to help, friendly, professional and accommodating! All around a perfect stay!

Great things: The location of this house can’t be beat—towards the end of the island with great access to the bay, gulf., beach. Water views from pretty much every window in the house. The screened in back porch is a great place to relax. There’s a lot of space in the house, and furniture (sofas, beds) is comfy! It’s pet friendly and our dog loved every minute.
To note: It is an older house that they’re working on renovating. The entry stairs are steep and show their age. Inside the house, the stair banisters are not very sturdy so would be mindful/careful if bringing small children or anyone that would rely on the rail for support.

I am unfamiliar with policies such as hurricanes. Without opting to purchase extra travel insurance, is one fully refunded just before travel if a hurricane is predicted? Or what happens during your stay and there is an evacuation notice?

We strongly encourage travel insurance during storm season. Travel Insurance will cover travel disruptions or cancellations whenever a storm impacts accessibility to the property (streets will flood and get sanded over during storms).
