Description
Nautical Nonsense is a 4/3 beach house just 0.3 miles from the gulf beach by foot. The home is in a great location and very quaint for the perfect relaxing beach vacation. The property sleeps for 8. The back deck is available for the salt air, bird watching, and listening to the ocean. It includes office space and a kid’s hangout TV space. More importantly, is it on Dauphin Island and a short walk to the beach! You will have plenty of parking and if you would prefer to drive to a beach, we will provide you with free parking passes. Come make some memories at Nautical Nonsense!
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is not pet-friendly
Parking Instructions
Parking for four cars. To walk to the beach, you can go right out of the driveway, right on port royal st, right on bienville blvd and left onto Portier Ct. It is a 0.3 mile walk. You can also drive to the St. Stephens access point and park there with a parking pass that you can obtain from DIBR. You would go left out of the driveway, left onto Raphael Semmes St, right onto Bienville Blvd and left onto St. Stephens.

JS Vacations Inc. was easy to work with and very helpful. The Nautical Nonsense house was as described. It was nice being able to see the Gulf of America from the back deck and the Port of Mobile from the Front Deck. We enjoyed our stay!

This place was affordable and right off the coast. My group was a bunch of college kids interested in the beach and hanging out at the house and this spot was perfect. The porch offered an amazing spot to talk and eat dinner and there were ample utensils for cooking dinners. The blender was a cherry on top of the cake for an amazing stay. One thing I would note is to bring some extra supplies for cleaning(dish soap, dish washer pods, toilet paper, ect.) and some coffee cups or filters(with grinds). The island is pricey, so if you can get these items before coming, you’ll save a lot of time. Additionally, charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill will save your money. Overall, a great spot for low cost and a beautiful beach, what more could you want.

We were very impressed with the house we stayed in. It was well kept, had all the necessities of home and was very convenient to the beach and restaurants. There were 8 adults and we all had plenty of space to gather or get some me time.We would definitely stay here again if we visit Dauphin Island.

Was a great location! Short walk to the beach. Went for 4th of July and we could see the fireworks from the beach! Could use some major repairs and updates. We had alot of issues. Ac upstairs wasnt working, soft spot in the floors, the shower knob kept falling off, back door was hard to open, etc. For the price, upgrades need to be made! The host was very responsive to all our requests! They came an installed a new a/c the next morning! Overall a cozy stay.

Great place to stay for a family beach vacation! Lots and sleeping options and 3 bathrooms for lots of people. Living area is spacious for enjoying time together. A short walk to the beach and great back deck for enjoying the outdoors! Would definitely stay here again!

Having recently been diagnosed with asthma, I appreciate so much when a VRBO doesn’t rely on fragrance to make the house smell clean. This VRBO smelled clean without being fragrances. It was spacious and our extended family fit comfortably. Shirt walk to the beach. It might be difficult crossing main road at the height of the season but for us it was perfect.

It’s a decent place to stay in a pinch! We wanted to take a last minute trip and this was about all that was available in our price range. Overall a good experience!
Pros: it’s in a good location, reasonably priced for the area, spacious, has all of the amenities you need.
Cons: it needs an update. Everything was clean, but noticeable stains, the flooring is coming up in some places, cracks, etc. it’s just an older house with older house issues, but it is clean. It could just do with a refresh.

Perfect location for our family stay on the Island. Peaceful neighborhood with a short walk to the beach, close to the West end beach with a short drive to watch sunsets. Comfortably fit six adults and two teenagers.

There is an empty lot across the street from Nautical Nonsense which is right on the water. He is welcome to fish there.

Hi Ginger, the canal ends across the street and is a good fishing option. There is also a park walking distance that he can fish from. There is a night fishing pier driving distance that does cost money. Our family has enjoyed surf fishing right off the beach which is also walking distance.

We very much enjoyed our stay here.
It’s a 10 min walk to the beach and there were restaurants and shopping options within 5 minutes of the place.
We didn’t leave the island during our stay.
This airbnb was definitely worth the price.
It was quiet, peaceful and clean.
The only complaint I have was that the shower in the master bathroom was very uncomfortable. It’s a very tight space and the shower head was not easy to maneuver.
Otherwise, wonderful.

Such a cool place to get to visit! The spot was amazing with the amount of bedrooms & bathrooms for a good group of people to share a place without feeling too crowded. The proximity to the beach was a huuuuuge plus, so bring a cart to tow all the things you need & you’ll be even more appreciative! This will be our go-to spot on our next stay! 🍻

I stayed here for 2 weeks and worked remotely. The wifi worked great and I was able to work on the deck at the table on nice days. It was amazing because you could see the ocean from the deck. The AC worked well and each room had ceiling fans which was super nice. I loved how close it was to the beach. It was only a 5 minute walk and because of the property’s location on the island, that section of the beach wasn’t as crowded as the rest of the island which was nice.

Our family enjoyed our beach vacation and our stay at Nautical Nonsense. The owners were very responsive and willing to take care of the issues I brought to their attention. There are two things that I think could be better. The downstairs bedrooms just have sheer curtains so you could see right in and there was no blocking the sunlight. The other was the lawn needed desperate attention. The grass was above ankle high. Overall, it was a great stay and I would stay there again.

We loved the location, could see the water from front deck. very clean and stocked with everything we needed.
a short walk to the beach and enjoyed going on walks with our dogs in neighborhood. Daughter loved the hammock below house. I would have liked to have had thicker curtains in master bedroom since I could see all headlights at night while sleeping. Front door did not lock. Bolt did not catch even in trying code throughout week. That may need to be addressed for future tenants. we felt safe either way. Loved our frist trip to Dauphin Island and we will return again.

We enjoyed our stay. Easy walk to the beach. Enjoyed the outside shower and had water sources at front/back doors. We spent many evening on back deck with dinner. It was a nice treat.
Only things lacking is better AC upstairs. You really needed a window unit in both upstairs bedrooms. We weren’t able to enjoy the upstairs until after dark.
The kitchen was lacking a few things but we managed fine. Lastly, The grass was definitely in need of a mow and both doors had issues locking. One time took 5 minutes to get the automatic lock to properly lock.

House was very comfortable, not fussy, with the necessary essentials. Walk to the beach would require going out the front and around the block, but we noticed a more direct cut through at the back of the house. Not sure if the back yard neighbors would complain when using it. We chose to drive to the nearby public access beach so we didn’t have to drag everything. Nice bedrooms and the house lives larger than it looks. Double sink in the kitchen would be more appropriate and stove and dishwasher doors block each other. Very small master bathroom. Thought the property was a good value considering inflated pricing nationwide. Plus’ outweigh the minus’ and I would not hesitate renting it again.

Very responsive hosts. One bathroom was left pretty messy, but the hosts did offer to send cleaners right over. The back porch table needs an updated umbrella.
Comfy beds. Kitchen stocked with dinner wear. Plenty of space. Great TV channel selections. Overall good rental.
