Description
Bridgeview Cottage is a 3/2 right on the canal on the west end of Dauphin Island. You have spectacular views of the sound. Sit back and watch the birds and the boaters come and go. You are also walking distance to the beach (5 minutes to the bay side and 6 minutes to the ocean side).
The cottage is a classic beach house built in 1984. It has great furnishings throughout, a new deck to enjoy and a bulkhead boardwalk along the canal. Bring your crab traps, bring your boat, kayak and/or fishing gear. You can enjoy the water in the canal and also the convenience of everything else the island has to offer. There is an undeveloped barrier strip of land to the Northeast that will harbor wildlife and you are a quick paddle to Graveline Bay and beyond.
Stairs to upstairs bedrooms are steeper than normal and may not be suitable for young children, elderly, or those with mobility problems.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following house rules:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is not pet-friendly.
Parking Instructions
Driveway will accommodate 4 vehicles. To access water, walk down Mallard until you get to the end, at St. Stephens. If you turn right, you will arrive at a Bay Side Beach, if you turn left you will arrive at the Gulf Side Beach. Bay Side beach is a 5 minute walk and the gulf side beach is a 6 minute walk.

LOVED our peaceful, beautiful stay!!! Gorgeous view from breezy covered porch with lots of seating & dining. Just below we fished & sunbathed right from the dock! Lots of fluffy quality seating in spacious LR & a huge party dining table. Kitchen had every appliance & utensil you could want but do bring own seasonings & foil/plastic wrap/bags. It is SUCH a quick & easy stroll to BOTH the beach & the bay! Both were practically EMPTY every time we went!!! AMAZING! We were worried about upstairs temp based on prior reviews but management assured us it was repaired. It was 90 degrees during our stay & our daughters said the temps upstairs were good the whole time. We all appreciated the games & books available, outside hoses & fish station, easy bike & golf cart rental, all-over cleanliness, & the cottage charm. The island offers just enough to provide entertainment without the crowds & traffic! Obsessed! Feels like an old-school, unspoiled, peaceful beach AND bay vacay. 10/10

Our first visit to Dauphin Island was memorable, and our stay at Bridgeview Cottage was comfortable. The beach house had ample space for our family of two adults and four teens. The girls enjoyed their private second-floor loft, and the master bedroom had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in while on vacation. The well-equipped kitchen and spacious living room made our stay even more enjoyable. We appreciated the long dining table for meals and games. The walk to the beach took about 6 minutes which was manageable, and being able to fish off the house dock was convenient and fun! Our only concern was the warm temperature upstairs, which made sleeping difficult. We contacted DIBR, and they promptly responded, sending someone to inspect the AC unit. We were told the unit was functioning properly, but the house required two units for adequate cooling. The air vents were adjusted to improve airflow, making it easier for the girls to sleep. Overall, we found our stay to be pleasant.
