Welcome to Banana Cabana, a bright and beautifully designed coastal retreat where modern comfort meets the relaxed rhythm of Dauphin Island living. With expansive Gulf views, thoughtful design, and private ensuite bedrooms for every guest, this home offers a perfect blend of style, space, and seaside relaxation.
Step inside and you’re greeted by an open concept living space filled with natural light. Tall ceilings, crown molding, and elegant lighting create an inviting coastal atmosphere, while soft wood look flooring and beach inspired décor make the space both welcoming and durable for sandy feet returning from the beach.
The living room offers plush seating and large windows that frame the surrounding island scenery. Whether you’re gathering for movie nights, sharing stories from the day’s adventures, or simply relaxing to the sound of waves in the distance, this space is designed for connection and comfort.
The kitchen flows seamlessly into the living and dining areas, making it easy to cook, entertain, and spend time together. Featuring white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and a generous center island, the kitchen provides everything needed for preparing meals for family and friends. The nearby dining space offers a comfortable setting for shared meals and laughter after a day in the sun.
Large sliding doors lead to the expansive Gulf facing deck, where outdoor seating and a relaxing swing offer one of the best places on the property to watch dolphins pass by or enjoy the island breeze.
Sleeping Arrangements (Sleeps up to 14):
• SE King Suite – King bed, private ensuite bathroom, and direct access to the Gulf view porch
• SW King Suite – King bed, private ensuite bathroom, and direct access to the Gulf view porch
• NE Queen Room – Queen bed located next to the common bathroom
• NW Bunk Suite – Bunk bed layout with private ensuite bathroom, perfect for kids or additional guests
Both king suites open directly onto the Gulf facing porch, allowing guests to step outside and enjoy the coastal breeze, watch dolphins offshore, or take in the view of Dauphin Island’s bright sandy beaches.
The outdoor spaces at Banana Cabana are designed to make the most of the island setting. The expansive Gulf facing deck offers sweeping views of the water and plenty of space to relax with morning coffee, afternoon drinks, or sunset conversations.
A deck swing provides the perfect vantage point to watch the surf roll in or spot dolphins swimming just offshore. With convenient walkout access to the beach, guests can easily step down to Dauphin Island’s beautiful white sand shoreline for swimming, shell hunting, or long sunset walks.
Banana Cabana places you close to many of Dauphin Island’s favorite attractions. Spend the day exploring Fort Gaines, discover marine life at the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, or wander through the peaceful trails of the Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Fresh seafood restaurants, bike friendly roads, and relaxed island charm make it easy to slow down and enjoy every moment of your stay.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax applies.

We loved this house! The layout could not have been more perfect and would choose it again! Location was perfect! There is nothing better than sitting on the back deck and watching dolphins swim, sun rises and waves lap the sand! Would recommend some updated cookware and adding larger microwave safe bowls. The refrigerator has definitely seen some wear and tear as door shelves were missing and the oven definitely needs a major cleaning. Over all there is absolutely nothing that would keep us from returning! The property management people were angels and took care of all our needs instantly!

This is our 3rd year to stay here. Everything about this house and location is perfect for our family. The kids want this same house every year. The adults love it too. The only things I would change is to move the sign of the property to the side of the deck. It is directly in front of the swing and the bunk bed ladders to be easier to use. Not very good for kids. Grandkids (ages 12 & 11) (9 year old refuses to go up there) don’t like using them.

The house was big enough for our group and had all the essentials needed for inside, if you want beach essentials be sure to pack them. Since we did have a large group the water pressure was an issue. The host was responsive and the location was great. Overall a good experience.

We truly enjoyed the location of the beach house, which was perfectly situated within walking distance of the beach—ideal for a relaxing family getaway. The photos provided accurately depicted the amenities, and the setting was wonderful for unwinding.
That said, there are a couple of points worth noting. First, the outdoor space lacks patio furniture aside from an older, rusty swing. If you’re planning to spend time relaxing on the deck, I’d recommend bringing your own seating. Second, upon arrival, we found the house to be in need of a thorough cleaning. There was a significant amount of pet hair and sand throughout, requiring us to sweep multiple times and clean the entire space ourselves. Additionally, we had to wash the comforters, as they were covered in dog hair.
Overall, the location and potential are fantastic, but these aspects could enhance the experience with some attention.

We loved the property! There was a slight issue with the refrigerator but it worked out. We had to buy bags of ice because the ice maker wasn’t working. The office communicated with us quickly. The beds were so comfortable as were the pillows. It was really a wonderful time with family. We would definitely choose Transparent Sea again.

We enjoyed our stay at this airbnb. the house matched the photos and there is plenty of space for our family of 3 and a dog. We enjoy being right on the water and it was very quiet.

The house is great! Roomy and nice. The location is fabulous, just steps from the ocean. And having the ocean in the back and the bay across the street in the front made for some beautiful views! The back porch is really big and nice. We hung out there every night and the breeze was just amazing! We brought 2 dogs with us and it was awesome being so close to the ocean for them to enjoy! There were some good restaurants and fun stores too. Make sure you bring groceries or stop before you get to the island.
This was our first time to Dauphin Island and we just fell in love with it. It is a peaceful, beautiful, kinda sleepy beach town. It was perfect for a relaxing beach getaway!

This house was great. Lots of stairs like anywhere else on the island. The house was clean and comfortable. The only thing I would add would be more deck furniture! There was a picnic table, a porch swing and one Adirondack chair. Overall great stay!
