Interior / Common Spaces
Step inside to a bright and welcoming interior designed with a relaxed coastal feel throughout. The open concept living and dining area provides plenty of room for your group to spread out, while large windows and recessed lighting keep the space feeling airy and connected to the outdoors.
The dining area centers around a large wooden table with seating for eight, making it ideal for shared meals, game nights, or gathering after a day at the beach. Coastal themed artwork featuring fish, crabs, and lighthouse accents adds to the home’s laid back island atmosphere.
In the living room, plush seating surrounds a large built in oak entertainment center with a flat screen TV and generous shelving. A tray ceiling with crown molding adds character and warmth to the space, creating a comfortable area to relax and unwind.
The kitchen is well equipped for group meals and everyday convenience, featuring warm oak cabinetry, granite countertops, tiled backsplash, and full size appliances including a refrigerator, range, microwave, and dishwasher. Natural light from the nearby window and exterior door keeps the space bright and welcoming.
Throughout the bedrooms, soft coastal tones, wood look flooring, and beach inspired décor continue the relaxed island aesthetic.

Outdoor Living / Beach Access
Outdoor living is one of the highlights at Ahhh House. The large decks offer a combination of shaded and sunny spaces, making it easy to enjoy morning coffee, afternoon lounging, or evening conversations while taking in the coastal breeze and surrounding water views.
As a bayfront home, Ahhh House gives guests access to a calmer and more family friendly beach experience. The gently sloping bay waters are ideal for younger children, less confident swimmers, paddleboarding, and relaxing near the shoreline. Unlike Gulf beaches, the bay typically has no rip currents and fewer encounters with hazardous marine life, creating a more comfortable environment for many families.
Positioned directly across from the Gulf of Mexico, the home also enjoys Gulf views while maintaining the quieter and calmer setting of the bay side.
Nearby Attractions / Area Perks
During your stay, explore Fort Gaines, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, and the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Local restaurants, bike paths, and shops make it easy to enjoy the relaxed pace of island life.
Ahhh House is pet friendly, making it a great option for guests traveling with their dogs.
As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!
Please note the following house rules:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly with prior permission. Only dogs, must be approved by insurance policy—2-Pet Maximum Limit – $100 pet fee per pet plus tax.
Parking Instructions
The property has large driveway with room for 5 vehicles. There is an easement path to the Gulf Beach on the west side of the property directly across from you. Thank you!

Kitchen was loaded with all of the necessary items. Only down fall was the bbq pit was small and the master bed was a bit squeaky. Otherwise it was a fantastic place and we look forward to staying there again.

For a change the photos made the place look smaller than it actually was, its a beautiful property with a huge house in the middle and an easy walkable access to the water.
both sides of the house have beautiful comfy chairs and great views of the gulf.
as for the island theres a lot of things to do apart from frolicking in the water, its one of the most dog friendly areas I’ve been to, dogs are allowed everywhere except the west end beach (wild life protection)

This bayside house was so clean upon our arrival. It met all of the needs of our party of 7 adults. The layout was amazing and the kitchen was stocked with anything we needed to fix meals. Being able to cross the street & be in the gulf water was awesome. Highly recommend spending time on the back deck to watch the dolphins play. We saw them every day! Drive to the west end beach after 7 pm, parking is free. The sunset views are unbelievable. Sitting on the back deck for sunrises were a favorite past time as well. Bring bug spray! Unfortunately, the mosquitos ate us up. And we had bug spray. It ran us inside early man evenings. We loved the slow pace of the island and took advantage of visiting the fort and aquarium. All the restaurants we visited were so pleasant and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting The Carriage. We were repeat visitors! Try their Sangria! Thank you for giving our family a home away from home with this beach house. It was very restful.

This house was a great fit for our family. The house was very clean, kitchen was more equipped than many home rentals we have used in the past. Views were amazing, my dad spent every morning on the porch watching the sun rise and enjoying his coffee and book. The bathrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, although the queen beds were pretty firm (personal preference). We like to cook, so it would have been ideal if the kitchen sink had a disposer, the ice maker was broken and didn’t make much ice and leaked all week (we notified the property manager), and the HVAC was insufficient to keep the bedrooms cool during the day (common for beach houses with this design and a single HVAC unit) but they cooled off at night. Other than those minor issues, the house was great, we would consider staying there again.

The house is beautiful and well thought out, with wonderful decks and plenty of places to wash off the sand before entering. I’ve had other VRBO houses be less than clean, but this home was immaculate and I had no concerns about the bedding.
My group found the beds a little uncomfortable, but we are used to sleeping on Memory Foam mattresses. The bed frames squeak when turning, so 2 restless people in the bed was challenging.
Overall this is an amazing property with gorgeous views, and easy access to both bay and Gulf beaches.

This house was perfect! The open floor plan is huge – lots of counter space for food prep, huge comfy furniture in the living room, large dining room table that seats 10. The views were amazing – we saw dolphins from the porch. Lots of outdoor seating. Short walk to the ocean, where we rented chairs and umbrellas for the week. Rented Kayaks from Salty Dog, and went out in the bay every morning. There were 9 of us and we had plenty of space.
Saw the sunset from the public beach on the west end of the island – stunning!

Overall great house, very spacious and fantastic location being between the beach and bay. Was a little confused at first about the “private beach access” but figured out it was a very small and not so easy to access (or climb) path over a sand dune between 2 houses but it wasn’t all that bad. It was still a great location and we still can’t all agree which was best…beach side patio or bay side patio as we thoroughly enjoyed both each and every day and evening! Great sunsets from the bay side!! Everything was good but if I have to be nit-picky…the one bedroom with the King bed was not a master suite. It does not have a private bathroom and it even has the sliding door nailed down which could have made it feel more like a master suite. And possibly one of the worst beds. My wife and I ended up sleeping in the separate full beds the last 3 nights bc the king bed was so rickety and noisy every time someone turned over. All in all though, we’d still come back to this place again!

We had a nice stay, the island is beautiful and this home is located in a great spot. It is roomy and a good space for families to share. There are not a lot of places to eat out on the island so we chose to eat in often and found cooking a little challenging. All in all we had a very nice stay. It was peaceful and that was what we were after.

The Ahhh House was perfect for our family of 7 (My wife & I, plus 5 boys ages 6-17). It was very clean…had everything you need to prepare dinners. It has a charcoal grill, but it’s a “park-like” grill so no lid, & its a bit difficult to grill if its windy. We had some slight issues with using the key to lock the door when we left & at night. Property management handled it ASAP.
My kids love to fish and throw cast nets, so having easy access to the bay was so awesome. We spent a full day just swimming & fishing in the bay. I assume because of past hurricanes there is some “stuff” in the bay, plus there are rocky areas…just be aware or wear water shoes. The beach access is just across the non-busy street. The beach was awesome. Great sand…great surf. We could pack a wagon, cooler & lunch to spend the day. If someone forgot something it was a 4-5 minute walk back to the house. No crowds at all because only the surrounding single-family homes have access.
We love the beach & fishing. We make most of our meals, so Dauphin Island is perfect for us. If you like a lot of restaurant choices…you’ll be dissatisfied. Hit up a grocery before you get on the island…the Ship & Shore has everything you need to fill in for a vacation, but not a ton of selection.
We had almost rain free weather, so it was beach or bay every day, but did spend a morning visiting the Alabama Aquarium, Fort Gaines & other Bird Sanctuary trails followed by lunch at Pirates Bar & Grill. It was great.

I’m a surf fisherman who rents 2-3 beach homes per year. This has been one of our favorites! It’s right across the street from the beach which made it easy to haul my gear. The house felt brand new and was well stocked. We can’t wait to come back! The only nits I will pick is that the king bed was pretty hard and while not necessarily due to the owners but more to irresponsible guests, the non-stick cookware needs to be replaced ASAP. I won’t hesitate to rent again.

This is a lovely bayside location that worked great for us. It is pet friendly and our dog loved running down the grassy path to the bayside beach. The water on the bay side is calmer and the wildlife is abundant. The giant back deck made a great hangout area for us to read and for our dog to watch the goings on.
The only downside was the WiFi was basically unusably slow. We had planned on working a few days while down here and had to resort to our own phone hotspots because the WiFi maxed out at like 1.2 Mbps.

Hello! I am wanting to know about beach access and walk to the beach. If I am looking correctly at the picture, the gulf is across the road. Is that where we would be able to access?

There is an easement on the west side of the property across the street from you. That is the shortest path. You can also easily access the gulf at Sehoy Street which is 1150 ft west of you (4-minute walk or you can drive and park).
