Great house, helpful and efficient arrangements
Posted on: 11/14/2012
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sandbar. The directions were helpful and the house was child and pet friendly, just as you had indicated. Dauphin Island is beautiful and not very far from our home in New Orleans. We plan to return. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Kim

I’m 6’5″ so a king size bed would have been a big plus for me. The blinds on the sliding doors to the decks need a lot of help. It was a very good experience despite the earthquake! Hope to return!

Fabulous house – right on the beach!
Posted on: 11/14/2012
We stayed in this beach house for my sister’s birthday celebration. There were eight of us, spanning three generations. Everyone had a great time. We loved walking down to see the sunrise and the sunset, or just to stroll along the beach. THree bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths is a perfect size. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. We were able to pay a pet fee at the last minute so my sister could bring her little dog along. There were really no negatives. This was a very good experience1

Lovely home with just a few issues, overpriced view
Posted on: 11/14/2012
We found our 5 day winter stay on Dauphin Island to be quite relaxing. Our stay was evaluated with the goal of bringing our families down during the high season. The home was well-equipped and well-stocked. It was a comfortable home–with a few issues that are easily corrected: The pillows were worn and flat, and the mattresses were thin and hard. The TV was very small by today’s standards and the stereo system was simply a glorified boom box. There were only 4 deck chairs which were ridiculously low and uncomfortable.Dauphin Island: white sand, beautiful blue water, and . . . nearby oil rigs dotting the waterscape! Very distracting and unsightly considering the rental prices commanded. The bird sanctuary is marvelous, the local restaurants are good, if a bit overpriced, and nearby Bellingrath Gardens was the highlight of the trip. However, there is not much for younger adults to enjoy. It’s perfect for those of us who only want to surf-fish and sunbathe.

Great location lots of room bed in master was a little small.

Really enjoyed the stay. The only problem we had was getting the luggage up the stairs and that the bed in the master was small. Other than that it is a great place to stay.

Dauphin Island is a beautiful place to visit. The rental “The Sandbar “is a lovely home. Its very spacious with beautiful views of the gulf. The easy access to the beach was the best! Everyone enjoyed the daily show the dauphis put on. Its a lovely home and place to visit, we definitely will be returning.

Great place!
Posted on: 4/5/2013
We spent a relaxing spring break at Sand Bar. It’s a very comfortable place–felt a lot like we were borrowing a relative’s house for the week. The view of the Gulf is gorgeous–we watched the sea birds fishing and had a daily visit from a blue heron. The house was well equipped and far more space than the three of us needed. I think the only issue we had was a slow drain, but it wasn’t even worth a call to get it fixed. Also highly recommend the fishing pier and the lady who rents kayaks.

Wonderful Stay!
Posted on: 11/6/2013
This is a great beach house. Beautiful sand to the water. Enough room for everyone. Our little dog loved the “crow’s nest”. The electrical wires from a previous house should be addressed for fear of small children getting hurt. Wonderful little island. We opted for off season, and there were no crowds on the beach, no one at all!! Loved Skinners fresh seafood!

This home is beautiful. It contains everything you would need for your comfort and more. A plus is it is dog friendly. The porch across the house facing the water was g great for my dogs as it was always cool and a place for them to get in the shade any time of day. The beach is right in front of the house. We are planning another stay and hopefully will be able to get this rental.

Management was so helpful in finding us a house on the gulf that was pet friendly and very close to the water. We loved the house and it was furnished with all necessities. We also loved the observation deck. We will definitely request to stay at Sandbar again. The deck that was secured for children and pets. We were very close to the Gulf and took many walks on the beach – but our dogs we’re scared of the wonderful sound if the waves. It was an incredible anniversary trip.

Tops for Laid Back Vacation
Posted on: 4/7/2016
One of the nicest places we have rented at the beach. Not quite “Beach Front”, but almost with great views. No complaint about location. Nicely furnished with everything we could use with a lot we did not use or need. Only item missing were crab leg crackers, but we managed.Would highly recommend, and if we come back to Dauphin Island, we will stay here again.Tops in my book!!!
