The latest forecast from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) shows the oil steering clear of Dauphin Island as it drifts northeastward . . . (We're the Island south of Mobile without any red "X's" on it).
Unfortunately, oil has come ashore at Orange Beach yesterday morning (as the NOAA chart had predicted).
Thankfully, we have still not had any oil on Dauphin Island.
Here is a view looking east. Note the new berm along the shoreline that will hopefully help re-establish a natural "dune field" (there are areas to crossover).
